Bay Area National Dance Week
FAQ

What are the dates for National Dance Week?
April 20 - April 29, 2007

Where can I pick up a copy of the event guide?
You can find a list of places to pick up an event guide here.

How can I (a dance artist or organization) participate?
Anyone may participate by presenting an event during National Dance Week that is free to the public. Register your event on this website, and pay the registration fee by check or credit card. Free means completely free, not low cost or sliding scale! Please do not ask for donations at the door. However, if you want to set up a table at your event, where people can choose to come over and make donations to your organization, you may do so. We ask that any donations you solicit go towards your organization, not towards the event.

When is the deadline to register events? The registration deadline is February 5, 2007. Plan ahead! Registration begins November 1, 2006.

What do I get?
All registered events are listed on our website and in the BANDW Event Guide. Each year, we print 80,000 guides and distribute them all over the Bay Area, including 50,000 that get inserted into the SF Bay Guardian. BANDW also hires a publicist who works to provide blanket press coverage for the entire week. Often the most successful events result from additional marketing, so we encourage everyone to promote their own events.

What kind of event should I do?
Please see our Visions for Successful Events, for event ideas and suggestions.
